I was born in Northern California and raised in the small and friendly city of Rohnert Park (45 miles north of San Francisco). After graduating high school, I headed to Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. Still searching for warmer weather, I migrated down to San Diego in 2008 which is where I have been ever since. My favorite things are traveling, working out, reading, movies, golfing, cooking, Disneyland, and the Miami Dolphins.
I too was born in Northern California and raised in Danville (30 miles east of San Francisco). I moved to San Diego in 2008 as well, although I was just starting college :P. I knew I wanted to go to SDSU so I could live in San Diego forever after graduating which is going according to plan. My favorite things include traveling, working out, running, sports, real estate, photography, saving money, online marketing, and the Warriors.
The happy couple met in 2011 at VAVi where JR was an employee and Gina was a new intern. They first spoke at packet pickup for the very first ROC Race. Gina was very impressed that a real employee would strike up a conversation with a lowly intern like herself.
Their next major milestone was when Gina was moving from SDSU to Pacific Beach. She ran into CEO Steve at the local bagel shop and he offered up JR's services since he had a truck.
During the quick trip, Gina showed off JR to her old roommates to make them jealous that she was now working with beautiful and mature adults. "You should go for it," they said. "Oh no I'm not interested," Gina replied, thinking she would never date a coworker. Little did she know she would end up marrying him! (Spoiler Alert)
Fast forward some time and they became friends and started hanging out more on VAVi teams through kickball, dodgeball, football, etc. Fast forward a lot more time to 2014 and JR was finally ready to introduce her to people as his girlfriend!
Boy was this an exciting time to be alive!
In 2015 they moved in together to their humble Chalcedony abode.
Their love for travel took them on many adventures over the years. For Thanksgiving in 2016 they traveled to beautiful Belize... where they were caught in the outskirts of a hurricane. Despite it not being the "perfect weather", JR popped the question to his "perfect girl".
